L&T – MHI Power Boilers Private Limited has a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for Pressure Parts and Pulverisers for super critical boilers at Hazira in Gujarat. The current installed capacity of the facility is 5000 MW per year, with systems, processes, machinery, and manufacturing capabilities which are the best in its class.
In our Pulveriser manufacturing facility, the plant layout is designed for optimum movement of material. There has been an emphasis on a system driven approach since its inception, at the same time L&T MHI has been consistently focused on training and development of the workforce, and skill development. This has lead to development of a strong technical team with proficiency in super-critical boiler fabrication. We run various training and skill development programmes. More than 400 people have been trained in their areas of activities with the active participation of MHI experts, covering detail Manufacturing Procedures for Header, Pipe, Panel and Coils.
For on-job Shop Floor experience an MHI Technical Advisory Team has been placed at our Hazira Manufacturing Complex to assist the Engineers and Supervisors in fabrication activities. With their in-depth knowledge and proficiency in manufacturing of super-critical boilers, we have been able to develop our workforce too. Since starting full load production, a Quality Patrol Team has been formed including personnel from MHI and L&T – MHI Power Boilers. This team makes frequent visits to fabrication shops and suggests various measures for improvement, related to safety, productivity and quality of products.
FACILITY
The manufacturing shops are equipped with a combination of various imported and indigenous machines. Workmen are developed as multi-skilled fabricators in order to carry out the manufacturing of different pressure parts for supercritical boilers.
The L&T – MHI Power Boilers manufacturing facility at Hazira continuously strives to achieve manufacturing excellence. The Quality Management System has been certified to ISO 9001:2008 by M/s. Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance Limited. The Quality Management System is applicable to Marketing, Design, Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Manufacturing, Erection, Installation, Construction & Commissioning of Super Critical Boilers and Pulverisers for power projects.
